Consols remain at 100|, and New Zealand securities at the following quotations ,—5 per cent 10-40 loan 106£, 5 per cent 1889 loan, 104$ ; 4J per cent 1879---1904 l»an, 102* ; 4 per cent inscribed stock, 102 J. Breadstuff's are dull at 47s for Adelaide wheat ex store, and 43s to 4Cs for New Zealand ditto. Adelaide flour ex store is worth 335. Australian tallow :— Best beef, 395, best mutton, 425. The catalogue at to-day's wool auction comprised 11,200 bales. Prices were steady, but the demand was not active. The report that Mr Richard O'Shann&ssy has been appointed Governor of Queensland has not received any confirmation. Capetown, June 18. Intelligence is to hand of a further difficulty between the Transvaal Boers and the border tribes. Telegrams have been received stating that the Usuba natives made a successful incursion m force into the Transvaal territory, and carried off a large number of cattle.
