Childers, Secretary of State for War, has gone on the Continent on a trip for the benefit of his health, which bos become seriously impaired through overwork. H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburgh is at present suffering from a severe attack of bronchitis. The debate m the House of Commons od Mr Gladstone's proposed new rules m reference to the business of the House has been rapidly proceeded with at recent sittings. During the past week seven more of the Premier's resolutions have been passed, and all rules affecting procedure have now been dealt with. Three final resolutions affecting the Standing Committee alone remain to be discussed. [Beceived 0.45 a.m., Nov. 27th. | Consols remain at 102 J. The markets for colonial breadstuff's and tallow are unchanged. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,170,000 quarters, an increase of 5000 during the week. At to-day's wool sales 10,000 bales were offered. Medium and inferior wool generally is> m request ,at reduced prices. Good quality is firm. Fine wool maintains September rates, but other descriptions are easier m price. Sir Gladstone has stated that it is probable Parliament will be required to reassemble m January. The Ouzco's frozen meat is selling at a reduction of from ten to fifteen per cent on former prices. There is a great deal of it of an inferior character, and the soft, shapeless carcases are only realising very low prices.
