TEMUKA BOAD BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of the Board was held on Tuesday, the 3rd February. MEMBBBS EBESBHT. Messrs Talbot (Chairman), Barker and Quinn. minutes. MR M)W'S COMPLAINT. Mr Barker naked what had been done with reference to obtaining a legal opinion with reference to Mr Low's complaint. As no tction had been taken m the matter, it was ordered to be attended to as soon as possible. BOAI> AT EPWOBTH. An application having been made to repair a road at Ep worth, the Surveyor was instructed to report on the matter by next Bonrd day. QOBBB ONBOADS. DISCOUNTS. Mr Barker moved, Mr Quinn seconded, and it was ndoptrd— " That m future 2\ per cent bo taken ofß all nceounts rendered for goods supplied, as tho Board should have tho tame consideration given them as private individuals." COBBBSPOHDBKCB. The following correspondence was read: — From Mr S. Sibly, asking for payment for some shingle used at a bridge near Stovn«on'»; alto, a refund of his deposit, which bad became forfeited to the Bonrd. Resolved— " Tb»t the Board's former decision on tho matter be adhered to." ■ From Butler and Devane, asking for an extension of lime.— Granted. Front Mr Job Brown, asking that Dan! and Caitatreels be thingled. The Board resolved to adhere to their former decision. From the Poundkeeper, asking for a little timber for certain improvements at the pound. — Granted. From Mr W. Chapman and eight others, •iking to have the foothpath m Allnutt street formed.

The Surveyor was instructed to report on the tarns next Board day. From the Poundkeepor, agreeing to collect the yard fees arranged to bo charged for the use of tbo pound, and aeking if ho could charge for unsold as well as told cattle. Ordered — "That all cattle yarded be charged for." From the Manager of the Bank of >*ew Zealand, slating that a fixed deposit for £2000 fell m on th« 2Ut inst.

Ordered — " Thot the amount be carried to the district fund account."

From the Ashburton County Council, asking for this Board's share towards the salary of the ferrymen at th« Bangitata. The following tenders were accepted: — No. 101, footpaths at Winchester— W. Fletcher ; shingling at 2a 7d por yard, formation at 10s per chain. No. 102, footpaths, Wilmeshurst street — \ x> high, fresh tenders to be called. 21b. 1, filling creek, Woodhead's — Thomas •.nail, £22 10s. ' No. 2, picking and breaking stone;, South road— T. Molloy, £48. No. 3, fords, Geraldine road— T. Molloy, £45. No. 4, bridge, Waitohi road — John Langford, £59. APPOINTMENT. Mr George Bolton was appointed Inspector of Nuisances at £25 per annum, and aleo Collector of Bates at the following commission, vus. : — On shilling rate, 2J per cent ; on ninepenny rate, 2 6-6 th do ; on sixpenny rate, 4i do j on threepenny rate, 8 J do.
