General Roberta on the 18th attacked a body of Afghan irregulars, and, after a severe and protracted contest, the Afghans were defeated, with the loss of 500 killed and numerous prisoners. The British also captured a herd of cattle and quantities of grain. Marshal Eapartero, the Spanish statesman is dead.
