In Melbourne's second innings, McDonnall played in fine form and Tennant, and Kerdall hit the Canterbury bowling to all parts of the field. In the last part of tho innings the bowling was not up to the mark. The Canterbury fielding was good with one or two exceptions. Frith, without adding any more to the score. Canterbury then went in, and so far, the scores in ti.rir eecond innings are : — Baker, b Alexander 0 Wntson, not out ... ... ... ... 22 Ollivier, not out ... ... ... ... 27 Extra ... 1 Total 50 Melbourne, 7 p.m. Buns were sow required to win ; but the task proved too much though Wtileon, Ollirier, Neilson, and W. Frith played in fine form. The bowling of Alexander was very li'iod, and so was the fielding with one or two exceptions.
