The number of days on which rain fell at Auckland, Wellington, NVlsoo, and Chmtchurch, was far abore the average for the same montli m pr Tioui years. The'ruinfall m inches amounted to an average for the colony of 10 681 incijf-?, against an average for May m previous y ;irs if only 5096 inches. At Hokitika, 22100 inches of rain fell, and at Nelson 16 210 inches. At Auckland, 23 days, and at Wellington 20 flays of the nvmlh were wef. In Christcliuroh rain fell on 17 days, us against 10 days m the tune month lut year.
