TIMARU— Monday, October 21. [Before P.. Woollcombe, Esq. X.M.] DRUNK anu disorderly. John Wilson was lined os for this offence. James Nolan wus charged wifch being drunk and disorderly, and with assaulting and resisting the police ; also, with making use of obscene language m the street. For tiie lirst offence, prisoner was repremanded ; for the second and third offence he. was tined 10s, or two weeks' imprisonment with hard labor. larceny as a bailee. Frederick Nelson was brought up from Waimate, charged with the above offence, and was remanded for three days. Tuesday. October 22. [Before ii. Wo..llc..mb^ Esq, R.M.] CIVIL CASErf. N. Burton v Thus Itaine — claim £5 7s lld. Judgment by default. James King v Eil ward Pilbrow — claim £4. for services of the entire horse Camden, with a guarantee. The evidence went to show that the defendant's mare hail nofc been served by Camden, bufc by a draught entire ruuuing iv the same paddock with her at Temukn. His Worship, m non-suiting the plaintiff, said that, iv the absence of witnesses, his day-book was so irregularly kepfc that no evidence could be accepted from ifc. Plaintiff was ordered to pay costs. T. G. Coik v M. Barrett— claim £9 9s 6d. Defendant appeared m answer to a judg-ment-summons to show cause why the above debt uas not paid. He stated that he was a married man wish four children, m constant work, receiving 25s per week aud his own board. Ordered to pay 10s per week.
