The School Committee have much pleasure m presenting thir> lh<-ir third Annual Jleporl, and m doing so, they beg lo congratulate the inhabitants of Ihe district, upon the efficient nimuier m which the school was conducted during the greater port ton of the past, year by .Mr Irving. Upon the resignation of that gent lonian, Mr Mulutosh wiia appointed to the mastership of the school, and has ably nnd efficiently conducted il during the past quarter, to the entire satisfaction of the committee and parents of the. children. Mr Me.lntosh opcneil the school on the Blh July, 1872, with mi attendance of 30 children, this number hns steadily increased to mi average daily attendance, of 53, and v roll of Go. Tho committee commenced the past year with a debt of £24 10s 2d, this, sum, together with other small iiccmiiit-t, making a total ol £"31 15s sil, has been paid by the proceeds arising from a gift, auction, soiree and entertainment. This work your committee thought it as well to leave for the consideration of the new committee. The Committee before closing the report, desire to thank Mm Mclntofh. for her kindness m assisting m the svhool during the past, quarter, nnd regret l.liv Board will not nllnw any remuneration for the same, but. are glad the Board has sanctioned her appointment, as assistant, nnd sewing mistress, to da' e from the Ist. of October. The Committee also beg to t.hnnk the auditors for their kindness m auditing tho accounts. The Committee also express their entire satisfaction of tho masters' capabilities as a teacher, and Ihe great progress made by the children during the past quarter. J. A. Young. The following gentlemen were (hen elected by ballot lo form a committee for the ensuing year . — Messrs Young, Taylor, Howard, Anderson, Eagle, Lewis Shaw, Stewart, and Klee. Mr Young was chosen elmirmnn. Proposed by Mr Young and seconded by Mr Anderson : — " That Messrs Clarke and Puterson be auditors for (he ensuing year." Eesolved — " Thai, a vole of thanks be given to Mr Smith for taking the ballot." Eesolved — " That n v.ito of thanks be given the re',iring committee." After a vote of thanks to the chairman, the meeting separated.
