Miscellaneous. JSXTRA EXHIBITS. For the best 1201bs of wool scoured or washed First prize, a silver medal Second prize, a bronze medal For the best and cheapest 18 gallons of colonial ale, a prize of £2 For the best 3 loaves of bread made of colonial grown wheat, a prize of £1 ENTRANCE FEES. For each entry of horses, cattle, or sheep : Members, 10s ; all others, £1 Pigs : 5s and 10s. Poultry: 2s 6d. Cheese or Butter : 2s 6d and ss. Implements : Members, 5s ; all others, 10s. Wool , 10s and £1. In exhibits for which the prizes offered are £1 or over, the entrance fee will be ss. All entries to be made with the Secretary on or before the 22nd October. No entry can be received after that date, except on payment of double fees, which will be received by the Secretary personally till noon on Monday, the 26th October. After that date no entries will be taken. The Committee will m no case consider an entry valid unless the fees be paid at the time of making it. Exhibitors m private classes will not be called upon to pay entrance fees ; and extra stock or implements, which cannot bo exhibited m any of- the advertised classes, will be admitted free, with the consent of the Stewards. GENERAL REGULATIONS. 1. All implements to be on the ground by 10 o'clock on Tuesday, October the 27th, on which day the implements will be tried. 2. All cattle, sheep, pigs, and poultry to be on the ground by nine o'clock on the day of show. 3. All horses to be on the ground by 10 o'clock on the day of show. 4. All horses must be haltered and led, and one man must be m attendance with each lot of horned cattle. 6. All servants m charge of stock admitted free, and subject to the order of the' Stewards. 6. Exhibitors will be required to state as accurately as possible, at the time of entry, the date of birth of all stock m classes where the age is specified j also m sheep, the date of shearing. 7. Pedigree of all thoroughbred horses must be deposited with the Secretary at the time of making entry. 8. Exhibiton of poultry will be required to find their own pens. 9. No stock or implements exhibited to be removed from tho yard until four o'clock on the day of Show, except with the consent of the Stewards. 10. The Stewards will not, under any circumstances, hold themselves responsible for loss, damage, or misdelivery of stock or implements exhibited at the Show. 11. In the event of there being no competition m any class, no prize will be* given unless the Judges certify to particular merit. Power is also reserved to withhold a prize where the Judges consider it ought not to be awarded for want of sufficient merit. 12. No stock will be allowed to be exhibited m .more than one class except for private prizes. 13. All protests must be left with the Secretary before 2 o'clock on the day of Show. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE JUDGES. In " Merino sheep," the Judges aro required to take into consideration the following points :— Fineness, length, closeness and quality of staple; also symmetry and frame of tho animal. In "Sheep best adapted for grazing on cultivated grass m enclosed lands." — They ore directed to award the prizes to the sheep they consider best adapted for the purpose, irrespective of breed. In " Hones," they are directed to award Prizes only to horses which they consider sound, m classes 4, 5, and 6, m the draught and 5, 6, 7, and Bin other horses. In the other classes, they are directed to pass over all animal* which, m their opinion, have any hereditary unsoundness. In classes 3, 6, and 7, m other horses, they are directed to take into consideration principally weightcarrying capability combined with activity. The attention of the Judges is also directed to the 13 th General Regulation. Gates open to the public at noont admission %& 6d ; after 1 p.m., Is. H. BELITELD, Hon. Secretary.
