OAMARU STOCK REPORT.

As anticipated m our last Report, the past has been a comparatively quiet mouth m store sheep, very few offering, the buyers uuwilling to give an advance proportionate to the season. In ewes, from the near approach to lambing, we may consider transactions will close with this month, and buyers desirous of investing will turn more attention to store wedders, for which there now is, and will be, a fair, though limited, demand. The large number of sheep introduced during the past season have nearly supplied the wants of purchasers m Southland and Otago, and from the natural increase we may expect, \ve must be prepared for somewhat easier rates m making estimates of sales for uext season. In cattle, this district has been nearly cleared out, and prices between the two Provinces approach nearer to equality ; iudced, we may expect very soon to offer such prices for fat cattle as will induce Canterbury holders to forward to this Provincp, especially as the West Coast market does not now offer the hitherto prevailing high rates there.

Cattle— Fat— on the station m Otagoare now worth 45s to 47s 6d per 100 lb. In Canterbury, 47s 6d to 52s 6d. Storks, mixed, £7 10s to £9, according to age and condition, Wedders, Fat. — There is a fair limited demand at 3 j per lb on the station. Stores are more inquired for, and saleable 12a 6d to 13s for 2, 4. and 6 tooth. Ewes. — Oui quotations remain without alteration. Since our last we have sold 3200 (2, 4, and 6 tooth) at 17s Gd ; 1400 (2-tooth) at 18s ; 3500 (8-tooth) at 11s 6d to 12s; 1100 (broken mouth) at 7s 6d ; and 400 (full and broken) m lamb to choice Leicesters, at 12s each.

Lambs. — The season being now far advanced, quotations would be purely nominal. We have no fresh transactions to report during the past month, except a small lot of half-bred Leicester wediler lambs, quitted at 11s each. Horse Stock. —We would request the attention of breeders and farmers to our sale at Totora, near Oomaru, on 21st inst., of about 80 head of Mr Holiness broken and unbroken heavy and light draught stock, many of them pure Clydesdales, and mares m foal to first-class horses. Station Properties. — We have no transactions during the past month to report, but are now m treaty for several privately on satisfactory terms. ROYSE, JMUDIE, AND MILLER, Stock and Station Agents.
