Letters-.refieived from; the] Cape [indicate that the condition trad? there, generally speaking, as far as the cities are concerned in the Cape and Natal, business is now fairly sound. Heavy losses of stock are reported from inland, while the cereal crops were. poor,, pointing to increased imports, especially as the refugees are now in the towns which were,, iii previous seasons, practically self-support ing. .
