The Premier.
(Per Press Association,) AUCKLAND, Nov. 25. The' Premier addressed meetings at Te Puko on Wednesday, and Whakatane on Thursday, and met with, an enthusiastic reception and vote of - thanks and confidence at each place. He was also banquelted on his arrival at Opitiki yesterday. He met the reception committee and a large gathering, and was entertained at luncheon and driven around the district. A deputation from the County Council urged railway communication between Gisbome and Rotorua. The Premier said he was. surprised at the capabilities of the district, and promised the fullest consideration. He addressed a crowded meeting in the evening. Referring to the Palmerston meeting, he said no one there could deny that the vote of thanks; and confidence was carried by an overwhelming majority, after himself and the chairman having failed to get a hearing, for Mr. Pirahi retired.'Mr. Pirani as the speaker and the self-appointed chairman and mover of the amendment, declared it carried. At the conclusion of his Opotiki address Mr. Seddon received an almost unanimous vote of thanks and confidence. He speaks in Auckland on Tuesday,
