Waihi Giand Junctions and Crown 8 improved to-day, buyers advaccing to 80s for Junctions and 16a for Crowns but sellers would not quote for either £10 was again offered fer Waihis, and 12s 3d for Taliemans. Sales were effected in a at Is Id, New Whaus at 8d and B|d, and May Queen Extendeds At 2|d, there being rather a fair enquiry for the latter. ' NEW WHAU. The manager (Mr. J. Jobe) telegraphed to the directors yesterday as follows: "Four pounds specimen stone. Reef looking well." •Mr Jobe states that the reef maintains its former size, and is daily improving iu value, The country now being penetrated is very Boffc and heavy, and consequently has to be well timbered for safety, In the general ore being broken, which is being saved for crushing) nice strong dabs of gold oan be freely seen. The manager intends to commence stripping the reef agaip, and another breaking down will probably take place at the latter end of next week.
