London, March 21. A sensational murder trial has just concluded resulting in Miss Catherine Kempshall, a London concert singer being sentenced to death for shooting Edgar Holland, a Liverpool merchant. Kempshall sued Holland for a breach of promise of mairiage, claiming ten thousand pounds damages Subsequently, according to Kempshall, she in 1895 twice unsuccessfully sued Holland. While denying that she had a claim either morally or legally upon him he promised in an act of kindness to send her money, but failing to keep his alleged promise Kempshall in November last visited Holland's office at' Liverpool armed with a revolver and dagger. Angered by the demand made by Holland that before he would do anything for her she must sign a document abandoning all claims against him. Kempshall fired three shots at him, all of which took effect in his chest. Holland lingered eleven days before he died.
