WOMAN. DIES "PROM-THE SHOOK, ■"" .';'";.; (Per Press Association) London, December 1 7. .; An earthquake was "folt" at. Stroud and Ledbury yesterday. 'Houses rocked, and the inhabitants ran irito tho streets. '■■'•' Hereford Cathedral suffered some damage. ....... A woman, was so terrified that she died from the shock. At five this morning further" shocks wore folt, extending from Cardigan, to". tho Thames Valley, Chester, . and, Lancashire. They were severe, but no serious accident occurred. - . Later. •■ : Pour shocks of earthquake were felt, in some places lasting a minute and a' half and were most severe at Birmingham, Worcester and in Shropshiro, The quake was preceded .by a rushing noise like a hurricane. < At Darley some workmen were thrown to the grou nd. . -> ■ The shock was only: lightly felt in : the vicinity of London.
