About 200 applications were received to-day for the position of care- , taker of the Little "Barrier Island, now a Government reserve for native birds, ■ which passes under control of the Auculand Institut eat the end of this year. The applicants include men of. various callings, many of them being shipmasters and sailors. The salary is £150 a year. -It is unlikely that* finnl selection will be madeior a few days.
