Mr Corbett suggested that the Secretary communicate- with the mine managers asking their support in favour of Mr Cadman, and Mr Jackson proposed that the Soeretary communicato with the secretaries of other committees working in Mr Cadman's favour, informing them as to how matters are progressing. Messrs 6. Fowlds, E. Mitchelson, C. E, Button, W. Crowther, and Hon, Thos. Thompson were yesterday nominated as candidates for Auckland City. A Wellington telegram, states that Messrs Robert Manisty and James Taylor have nominated for Pahiatua, and Mr J. J, Powell foi Wellington suburbs. A Press Association wire from Wellington says:— Mr Coleman Phillips, who intended to contest tho Wairarapa seat, on his return to Carterton to-day from England, handed in his 'nomination paper, but the Returning Officer declined to accept it intimating that lie had publicly announced the nominations closed on the 25th. Mr Phillips is not satisfied with this decision and is communicating with the Colonial* Secretary on the subject. ' Mi'Cadnian arrived at the Thames last night from Tairua.
