In the Supreme Court this Morning the cases against G. J, Scott for giving, and W. Goombes for accepting a bribe, were heard* After the Crown Prose* ctttor M given: bis opening adcirjss, the Chief Justice": ruled therei was no case to go to the jury, and the accused were accordingly discharged withouts evidence being taken. The case canie from Palmers Son Nort!i t and was connected with a sheep-stealing case, which was dealt with at tie last criminal sessions.
