At a mooting of the directors of the Wtiilji Eeefs Co, specifications were adopted for the new shaft, and instructions were issued to call tenders for the first 100 feet. Mr Colebroolc was appointed supervisor, and it was decided to proceed with the Work with all expedition. A survey of the Amaranth reef has boen taken from the Wnihi Company's ground, and the shaft is to be sunk in a position as near as possible on the course of the roil, OAPT. AKGALL. Captain Argall. the, well-known and p ipulur manager and supervisor of the Kapaugii and a number of English owned mines at Coromandel and the Upper-Thauies, is about to pryeed to England*
