Dunkdin, June 13.
In the case of the Chinaman, Cho May Hoy, charged with improper intimacy with a child under the age of consent, the jury returned a verdict of guilty, with a recommendation to clemency on the ground of the character of the girl and possible ignorance of the law,
Justice "Williams, in passing a sentence of two years' hard labor, remarked that he had paid attention to the recommendation.
Two separate juries returned a yerdict of not guilty on two charges against Alt Kuin, the girl's evidence being considered unreliable.
