Mi- Beere represents the Company, whilst Mr Knight appears ou behalf of Mr Hauau for the Government, Tlio widows are not represented by counsel, Mr Bishop, the manager of the mine, was searching!}' examined by Mr Eland, foreman of the fary, but no now light \\m yet boon been thrown on tlio cause of the disaster. Mr Bishop admitted when cross-examined by tlio foreman of the jury that ho had not examined the pouy track since tlio accident. I
