The Transvaal.
PiiKTOitiA, February 25. Labiii'crs are being engaged from the Congo to work in the mines in the Transvaal, London, February 25 It is now reported that the " Volksteiii" denies its former statement that the Government cabled to Jameson to advance in the name of reformers. Dr. Jameson will probably appear at Bow street to-day. The troopers -.declare that the inhabitants of the Hand formed provision depots along the route to be taken by the Jameson expedition on the pretence that these preparations' were for the mail service.

There \vas. soine cheering as. he steppet] put of the NilHe was charged at Bow street, to= getter with Willoughby and other officers, with making war on a friendly state. The hearing was adjourned for a fortnight. Bail was allowed in £2000, The troapers denounce Thatcher as an impostor, and aocuso him of being a spy. 'They assert he took no part in the fighting and his let: u*s are untrue.
