WAITIIKIIjV KRTON. It. was reported in Auckland yesterday t hat the Waihi-Silverton had 'jut the reef in in the low level, showing good gold. Shares' which have been hardening for several (lays' suddenly increased in value. The report, which is not authenticated, seejns to have been set going for market purposes.
-| MAY QUHKN. Work in the mine is proceeding as usual. ® Sloping on the No. 4 and north west lodes, i, continues to produce a large output of high :i class ore. The latter lode shows a thick- . ness of fully 4 feet and is much easier j broken. On'the two lodes it is estimated that there will lie fully 700ft,of sloping ground opened and being operated on. As soon as the j leading stopes are carried along the required length, driving on the large body of quartz ' .will be resumed eastward; this shows colors i of gold, and looks very promising. A good 1 supply of payable ore continues to be won i from both the Trenton and Saxon sections , of the company's property, and in the next i month or so the output will be considerably increased.
