At the meeting of the school com mifc'ee last night Mr Lewis attended, He absolutely refused to give any information as to the persons who had told him of the improper behaviour of the children as alleged by him in the letter to the Board of Education. The charges did not refer to the children now attending school nor had they reference to anything that took place in the school house. He had nothing to say against the Gh'sborne school or its •eaohing staff, but he objeoted to sendino his children to any public school iD the country. He denied having made charges and . had only written the statements of ofher persons to him. It was all hearsay evidence as ho had no actual knowledge of such things happening himself. A sub-committee *as appointed to euquire into the school management and report to the committee nnxt Wednesday.
