A largely attended meeting of Auckland members of the New Zealand Rifle Association was hell at the drill-shed last evening to consider what steps should be taken in view of the action of the Government in withdrawing the' subsidy and other concessions which have hitherto been granted to the Association* The following resolutions were passed:—" That this meetine views with regret tho decision of the Government to withdraw its support from the New Zealand Rifle Association "; " that in the opinion of this meeting a special graut in money Bhould be mado in aid of to be hold at Oamaru in Eebruary, 1896, at which representative teams from tho whole of the Australian colonies will be present to take part in tho fedoral match." It was decided to forward the recommendations of the meeting to the Auckland members of Parliament.
