QUEENSLANDERS IN LONDON.
—_^_ — AFTER DINNER BRAG. (per press association.) London, June 27. A hnndred and ten were present at the Queenslanders' dinner. Sir P. Garrick, who presided, said the colony was determined to correct past errors and was practising economy and thrift. He applauded the development of the resources of the ; colony, especially the-activity on the ■•- goldfields and the export of dairy produce. The success of recent loans j showed that England had again taken } her colonies into confidence. He j believed that Queensland would be t the first to return to a sound pros- 1 perous financial condition. The * Queensland frozen beef would not s displace tho Home grown but ought j to largely replace the Continental and a American imports. ' 3 Sir P. Garrick presented Mr Law- c son, director of army contracts, with i| a salver, address, and a purse of 120 J, guineas subscribed by 100 Queens- I landers. ti
