OFFICERS.

The Crown Law-officers have advised the Government vhafc women cannot be appointed visitors' to asylums; the law■ requires visitors to be Justices of the Peace, and women cannot be appointed Justices. They may, 'however, as at Onehunga, become Justices ex offitio by virtue of eleotion as Mayors.
