HAWERA BANKRUPTCY CASE.
THE CHARGE AGAINST KIRK.
(BY TBLROBAPII, -PRIWR AKROOIATMN) WkllinCiTON, October 3. The charges brought against Alfred Joseph Kirk, of Haweva, under the Bank* rnptcy Act avo: (1) Preparing to quit the colony with £200 in his possession, and with intent to defraud his creditors; (2) Failing to keep proper books on account, within three years prior to his bankruptcy; and (3) Wilfully omittnig to keep proper books or accounts with intent to conceal the true state of Ins business affairs. Kirk was brought up for examination before tho Oiliciul Assignee this afternoon, wlion on the advice of his solicitor, ho declined to answer any questions. The Assignee said tkere were several matters as to which he required information, and ho would , probably apply to the judge as to whether the debtor could not be compelled to answer.
