HOSTILITIES CONTINUED. SIAMESE ALLEGATIONS. THE FRENCH PRESS JUBILANT. (BY CABLIS— PRESS ASSOCIATION •) Paris, July 15. In tho Monam engagement tho Siamese had 20 killed, whilo tho Froncli loss was only 3 killed and 2 wounded. The Siamese allege that tho French! professed their intentions were of a pacific character, and that tho gunboats forced a passage into the river at night fall. Bangkok is underarms. The Siamese further stato that tho commanders of the French gunboats refused to obey the commands of the French Minister in Bangkok, not to enter the Menam river. Both the French and Siamese warships remain ready for action, and four thousand troops aro garrisoned iu Bangkok.
H'M.S. Linnet has arrived iu Siamese waters to watch British interests.
London, July 15. Tho French Government explain, that their orders to their warships not to enter tho Menam river, arrived too late.
In the House of Commons Sir W. Harccurt stated that the actions of the French commander, wore not in accordance with the assurance of M Develle, French Foreign Minister, that Great Britain would receive notice of any fresh step with regard to Siam, The English newspapers urge the Government to insist on the withdrawal of the French gunboats from the Menam river.
