Wellington, March 7, A PKODLIAR affrir, which ie 'at present wrapped in mviiery, was reported to <he police this afternoon. A man named 010 Abdereon, who occupied a houee in Tory street alone, was found laet night lying iu bed wi h hie hea'l hadly battered a"d coverod with hlaod, and his hands cut ae though a knifo bad been drawn through iliem. His condition is serious, and he can give no account of what bappenod, except incoherent mirtering about ihn Salvation Army, a man, and a woman. Hβ eviden'ly ha* beon inarieroualy aesiiuliQd, but robbery does not seem to be the objoc', as bis watch and chain, some monoy, and a deposit tocoipt of £75 were fouotl on him,
