MEETING OP (MEDIUMS, a mbeting of creditors in the Crawford Special _ Goldmining Company, now in liquidation, was hold on Saturday evening for the purposs of considering its financial position, and deciding upon future aotion as to the formation of a new company, There was k large attendance, and Mr J H. Smith presided. '
Mr S. C. Mack»y, one of she Ifqaidators placed before iho meeting the present posii tion of the oompwy, and stated that Messrs Mayers and Crawford had been unsnocesss fnl in placing any shares in the proposed new company upon the Sydney market. It therefore devolved upon the creditors to arrive at some conclusion in this respeotbut he would euygeat thai all the creditors 'honld tike up the whole amount of their alaima in shares in ths new company, for if the property went to the hammer there would bo very liitle to divide amongst the onsecnred creditors. In reply to a question put by Mr McEnteer, \lr Ma clay said that the secured creditor was the Bank of New Zealand. & Mr McEuteer then said that he womd agree only to the original arrangement of half Bhares and half cash. The majority of the other creditors present-namely, Mes>rs Price Bros., J H <mith and Co., 11. T. Douglas and Co* Dickcy.and Verran, M. Wilson, and T It Crawford expressed their willingness to take up the whole of their claims in shares Mr 0, A, -PurohM said that he would agree to take up a certain proportion of hi 3 debt in shares. Mr Bowles was averse personally to tako «tl his claim in shares; and Air Cook conourred with him in that i respect, Mr C. A. Furchas referred to ths ad. vantages, to be derived from working the mine ajrain, Mr Bayldon from the point of view of the interest of the community, supported the proposal, and was strongly supported by Mr Wilson.Eventually it was resolved, in the motion of Mr Mchnteer, ssconded by Mr Ros?, that the meeting should stand adjourned until 8 p,m on Saturday next,
