I his wes a month ago, and he does not get well, although he has laid up from work all the time. The four boys ara on the gumfields, about thirty miles from home, and tather is going there in a few days, but he is week from want of food, and I don't know ~ will be able to get thero t We are dyiiip of slow starvation, aud-I don't see any way out of it. If we could have got a cow before : winter, it would have been better, but I see ■ no ohance of that- God help us this winter: it will go hard with us," ..
