A FRANDULENT BANKRUPT.

Wellington lost night, In the bankruptcy court to-day the public examination of Ingram the tobacconist the creditors preferred charges against tho bankrupt. The chief justices said at the oit set of the case that be objected to doing the! work'of the RM„ in committing bankrupt for trial. The bankrupt on being examined admitted aigniug an agreement with Livio and C 0.,. not to give any security over his stock in trade to anybody else in consideration of tho loan, of £100 to help him to start in business f bnt that a fortnight before his bankruptcy he gave bailment over his Block in trade to another party who was also the bondsman tor the £100 boirowed from,tjiß National Mutual Life Association, he was in business four month's and increased his liabilities £340 for cash advanced, £80 for business debts. Of,the first named amount £356 was paid for the purposes of the'business. When he filed ho valued his stock} at £140 but it only realised £37 at auotion. His Honor said be did not intend te convict although . {he case was one which ought go to a jury (''and he should wder, the Assigooe to prosecute the bankrupt in the usuaal way on the charge of obtaining money from Levin and Go,, on false pretences. The present ■ charges would he dismissed;
