BANQUET TO MR. H. H. ADAMS.

Adams, in recognition of his Biiccessful efforts towards the introduction of Australian oapilal to the Te Aroha I go'drield. About 180 people sat dpwn to a first class spread, provided by Host Smardon of Wairongomai. The chair was occupied by H. E. Whituker Esq., and the vice chair by Mr Jan. Mills the local representative in the Pinko County Council. The members of the Piako County Council, and a number of gentlomen who had specially attended from the Thames were present, including !Mr Geo, . J rice, and Mr J. Watson of the firm of Price Bros,, and Messrs Barton aDd Bull, Mr J. P. Wickham of the Weekly News was also present, and received quite an oration from the Thames visitors, the majority present having at some time been resident, or Identified, with the Thames goidfield. An apology was read from the members of the) Ohinemuri Council, who regretted that they could not attend, on account of being engaged at the Thames with the Hon, the Minister of Marine, After the usual loyal, toasts, the chairman propose I the health of the guest of the evening, and in doing so spoke of Mr Adams in eulogistic terras.
