Under rio'circumstances is the Editor responsible; for the matter contained in correspondence, ° '■ (To the Editor, Thames Advertises! , Sir,—l notice that the building of nine bridges between Thames and Waikawau are to be let in one contract, can you.tell me why they are not let in smaller lots, as it seems to me that only a large contractor would be likely to tender, and no; doubt if he got the contract, ho would most likely Bublet.thera in small lots; I should think there are plenty' of parties at the present time, quite willing and capable of taking a small contract, who would not be in a position to take up the lot. Ido not say let each bridge be separate, but, say three contracts' each of three bridges.
