the discussion next session, ho found a land tax for local purposes could be im-. posed without iajustice, HeV might re-coh-sider his opinion, but' at' present':he preferred ( a property tax, He advocated the Catholic claims to a share of the edncation vote,-;;and severely criticised the present Bysteirj of education ; he thought that the growth of larrikinisra and prostitution might; bo traced to the fact thatStato education had lessened parental control.
