A meeting of policy-holders in the Government Insurance Association was held laet evening to consider the proposal to establish Local Boards in Ohristchurch, Auckland, and Dunedin, when the following resolution was submitted:—" That this meeting is of opinion that the business of the Government Insurance Assbciation;can be best administered;by one Central , Board, both on the score of efficiency- and economy, besides securing uniformity of administration: it thcrofoio disapproves, of the, proposal to establish local Boards of Ditectore as being., raiachievpus, extravagant, and unnecessary." It was objected that the motion ;was too sweeping in terms, and ultimately: .it was withdrawn in favour of the following, which was carried unanimously :^- ( f That in the opinion of this meeting the propbaal of the Central Board to create Local Boards in Auckland, Christchurch, arid Dunedin is premature, and.further, that before any local boards arc established a vote of, the policy-holders should bo taken on the subject." .
