The Rev W. J. Watkin, who has gained no mean popularity in this district for his ready wit, has been gratified this Christmas with a> visit from his father, a venerable old gentle* man from Sydney. The Watkin family are of no mean order. The reports of the school festivals testify to this, therefore we are aure that the appearance on the Thames of the grandfather of such a talented family—the father of the respected Circuit Minister Till be hailed with a degree of satisfaction. Onr advertising columns announce special ser* mons to-morrow, and we feel sure that a treat is in store. He is a ready-witted old gentle* man, it is said more so than his son, and the announcement that he will preach twice on Sunday will be hailed with satisfaction* : j :
