The continued firmness at the series of wool sales now progressing in London must provfl welcome news to Auckland wool growers and remove in a great measure the dpspondencv which, for months past, our settlers have struggled against. Breadstuff's have undergone little or no change, the advance heine well sustained, and likely to he so in the face of advices received from other markets. The arrivals are almost nil, although several cargoes are overdue. Grain of all kinds is on the decline, and, notwithstanding the strong efforts made to sustain quotations in oats, several sales from 2s Sd up to 2s lid 're reported, Maize continues to keep about the same price. Small lines are changing hands at 4' 4£d to 4s 6d for Sydney, and 4s for local. Potatoes arc rather easier. Bacon and hams are now coming for ward more freely from the South, but good cure is tbe exception. Kauri gum is a little easier, being worth about £1 lower, especially in low grades, MR ALFRED JinCK'AtfD'S WEEKLY REPORT: On Friday, June 13, horse stock were- in less number than of late, and generally of indifferent quality; sales were limited, but without alteration in values.
