County Council. THAMES COUNTY COUNCIL. Ttf OTICE IS HEIiEBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of tlio said Council, hold on Wednesday, the 25th day of September, 1878, the said Council adopted the several resolutions ing:(a) That at this Special Meeting the Council of the Thames County do adopt a resolution, that the northern boundary of the Ohinemuri Hiding, in the Thames County, be altered from its present site, so that it shall start from the ocean on the East Coast, at a point on the proper right bank ' of the Otahu Kiver, and thence extend up the said bank to the head of tho said river, thence in a straight line to the bead of the nearest source of the Hikutaia River, thence down the proper left bank of the said Hikutaia River to its junction with the Waihou River, thence in a line due west to the bouudary lino between the Thames County and the Waika'o County, And. further, that the number of Ridings in the said County be increased from five to six, by the creation of a now Riding, to be called the Totara Riding; andthatsuehnewßidiugbenowcreated, and that the site thereof shall he so much of the Hastings Riding, in the said County, as heretofore exkting, as is drained by the Kauaeranga River, and also so much of the said Ohinemuri Riding as heretofore existing, as will be taken out of the same Riding by the alteration of the boundary thereof hereinbefore mentioned, and that (he boundary of the said Hastings Riding shall be so altered as to make it adjoin the Northern and Eastern boundaries of tho said Totara Riding. (b) That at this Special Meeting the Thames County Council do adopt a resolution, that the number of Members of this Council should be nine, instead of seven, as heretofore, and that the number of Councillors to be elected by the Electors of the Kauieranga Hiding, in the said County, shall bo two instead of one, and that the electors of the said Totara Riding shall elect to that Council one Member. And, further, notice is hereby given that on Friday the twenty-fifth day of October, 1878, at the hour of half-past two of the clock in the afternoon, a meeting of the snid Council will be held in the Thames County Council Chamber, Thames, to confirm or otherwise deal with the said several resolutions, EDWIN WISE HOLLIS, Clerk to the Thames County Council.
