THE WAIPA ELECTION.
This contest, which has created some interest, came off yesterday, but in consequence of the scattered district included in the electoral division, the completed returns are not expected till this evening. A special train conveyed voters from Auckland, and we regret to learn that the old impersonation dodge was imported into the proceedings at Ngaruawahia, and that some persons are likely to get into trouble in consequence. History repeats itself, even in such trifles as an election contest. We hope the saddle will be placed on the right horse, and that the instigator will be made to suffer, rather than a simple victim. The returns are complete, with the exception of liaglan, which is expected to add to the majority of the successful candidate :—
