'lhe claims of natives to the Pohau blocks 2 and 3, near Shortland, were proceeded with, and memorials in' favour of Meriama te Ngahue and others ordered to be issued for block No. 2, and in favour of Turaone and another for block No. 3. The judge then proceeded with a number of succession orders, and cleared many of them off tho list before the rising of the Court, soon after 5 p.m. These orders were all in favour of the descendants of deceased owners who made good their claims to the land. The settlement of succession claims is the principal business remaining to be disposed of in the absence of the Ohicemuri and Aroha native claims. A block of land at the Piako remains to be passed through, and somo fresh claims which require to be gazetted are expected to come on for hearing about the 23rd instant.
