WAITEKAURI GOLD YIELDSECOND RETURN.
As we.have already intimated, retorting for the Waitekauri Company took place on Thursday, but, owing lo the boisterous and misty weather, intimation of the result-could not be. received by pigeon message the same day. The weather was very little better yesterday, but a message was received by Mr John Brown during the afternoon containing the result of the cleaning up, and we have beon obligingly furnished with the total, namely, 330 ounces retorted gold. We need scarcely remind our readers that during the early part of the crushing tho power was greatly reduced, owing to the scarcity of water, but this has since been remedied, . and the full force is now employed working with greater power than could be anticipated by the most sanguine, and no fears are entertained for the future of the battery or the mine,
