(PEE PEESS AGENCY.) LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Wellington, Tuesday. THAMES WATER SUPPLY. In the Legislative Council to-day, The Thames Doraostic Water Supply Bill was read a third time. MUNICIPAL COEFORATIONS BILL. The other business before the Council was unimportant, with the excoption that in the Municipal Corporations Bill the Council struck out the clause conferring upon councils the power to borrow. Wednesday, THE AGENT-GENEEAL. In the Legislative Council to-day the Hon. Mr Waterhouse asked the following questions of Dr Pollen:—From what date the Hon. Sir J. Vogel will commence to draw his salary as A gentGeneral? Whether or not the Government is to pay the cost of the passage to England of Sir J. Yogel and his family? Whether or not travelling allowances will be paid during such voyage, and if so, at what rate per diem? Whether or not the Agent-tfeneral will be required to devote the whole of his time to the duties his office? Whether or not he will be called upon to find security for the discharge of his duties. The replies were as follows:-Sir Julius Yogel would draw salary from the date of his appointment. _ The passages referred to in question two would be paid for. Travelling allowances would not be made; as to the fourth question, " Yes," and to the last, previous Agents-General had not been called upon for security, and the Government d d not think themselves justified in making a difference between Sir J. Vogel and gentlemen who had previously held the appointment. DEBTORS AND CfiEDITOES BILL. A clause at tho instance of the Hon. Mr Hart was inserted in the Debtors and Creditors Bill for appointing provisional trustees in place of the registrar of the Supremo Court and trustees appointed by registrars.
