The Mmagcr du Midi states that a merchant vessel arrived at Marseilles lately, laden with sugar, from Batavia. While in tho act of unloading, the workmen suddenly left their task, and rußhing up on deck gasped out inarticulate words. Among tho hampers they found three immense boa constrictors, Those reptiles seomed to wako from a state of lotharpy, and advanced towards the terrified mon, who had only just time to hoist themselves on the deck and close tho hatches, The ciptp.'n was, of course, obliged to suspend tho operation of unloading, and to look for the means of getting rid of these strange passengers. Three pigeons were poisoned witli strychnine and dropped in the hold, They were devoured at once, but only two of tho serpents died. The third roptile has not been seen again, and it is with the greatest trouble tho captain can get tho men to assist him in unloading the ship,
