Graham . occupied",the chair.; There were about thirty present.' On the reports, being read, Mr Stovin said that •further delay should, take place before such a heavy call as 6s per. share was .made. In reply to a shareholder, the Chairman said the amount of the call would enable the company; to resume crushing. He ' had hiipself taken the trouble to clinib the ;aountains to look into it. Mr Howard had no business to object to his remarks, as he had taken no trouble about the matter. Mr Graham defended Mr Howard's absence-from the mine._ Mr Jackson said he could not defend himself it was likely ; the matter would . come into Court, and it would not be : polioy for him to show his hand., On the poll being taken the following gentlemen ' were elected :-Messrs Howard, Graham, Jackson,' Captain Burton, and Ehrenfried., A meeting is to be called 1 in one month from' to-day to confirm. tho_ reelection of. directors; also,, to,..consider• the advisability of increasing the capital of the company by the issue of 5,000 shares at £1 a piece. ; . - George Strong; a boatman, and Mary, his wife, were had up to-day, and remanded for a week on a charge of setting fire to Mr Fernandez's Railway Hotel, •Official' Bay. Alfred Isaacs and Mr Chapman saw flames'ascending from the cellar of the hotel: last evening.
