Denis Wright, formerly a captain k the. Army, was to-day sentenced, to sisT months, for three charges of obtaining goods by false pretences. The same man wa'sarrestedatWellrogtonforforgery seven months ago, and acquitted,. It was said at the time that afriend at Court procured his acquittal. Hales, baker, at Wangarei, was found dead on the road near the settlement on Thursday. He had fallen from his horse and broken his neck.
