The following, taken from the Taranaki Budget, is an example: — Bacon bonght by Mr Gtiedhill, fimMr Foreman was said to be fitliy. A side liaS been cut in half for the purpose of furnishing practical proof on tho point. The look and the smell was accounted not sufficient proof. Mr Foreman has the name of being a first-class bacon curer, and objected to the plea made by Gledbill that the .bacon was fishy, and as Mr.Gledhill.was equally confident that it was fisby and objected to pay, ■Mr Foreman sue 1 in Court for the money.this morning. Fishy or not fishy ? The Court could not,decide,'so'it was ordered that some of the bacon be fried; -The bacon was frizzled. Kesult of tasting not yet reported. ■Last news—Messrs Yates and Colson appointed to eat the frizzled bacon, The - taste-, not yet -reported to Court. '. V :
