APPLICATION has been mado by Fiuncis Baton for permission to Construct a Water Raco for mining purposes commencing at a point marked D on a branch of N covcs' Creole, cast of Jackson's Store, and terminating at a point about Two hundred yards below tbo Tairua Company's macliino site. . Tho length of such Race 'is Six hundred yards, or thereabouts, and its intendod courso is northward and westward. Tho mean depth and breadth of such Raco is throo feet by two feet, aud it is capable of carrying Two sluiceheads of water j aud tlifc number of sluico hcada it is intended to appropriate is Two, of forty inches each, nnd the land required.is six feet on each'sido of the said Raco, .
