" THE THIEF CONFESSES. (fbom an occasional cobbespondent.) Wellington, Thursday, 8 p.m. Tho Ohinemuri Committeo to-day-solved tho miners' right mystery. Mr Brissonden was examined. Mr Moorehouso attended as his counsel, and objected to tho right, of tho Committee to force answers which might criminato bis client. Tho Committeo threatened all sorts of things, and penalties,' if Brissendon did not answer, and at length he gave way, and admitted that, in conjunction with O'Halloran, ho. bad scoured the rights surreptitiously. It is not known what further action will bo taken, or whether they will beprosecuted.
